If you have a CODE-43 and the Reels are turning slow wont reset with the key. CODE-12 low battery and you need to replace the Low battery or a dead battery. Hopper wont payout the slot machine locks up makes a error sound reset key clearsit but error. Returns as soon as you win or when you press the cash out button. Hi I went though and did search on the problem I am having with a slot machine. I got a phone call to service an IGT slot. When I got there I found that the battery was bad and replaced it with a new one.

Subject: IGT Help: Error Codes: 12, 61, 61-1
Author: Mike Poggenburg
[ Next Thread |Previous Thread |Next Message |Previous Message] Date Posted:16:56:27 07/18/05 Mon I have an older IGT S-Plus Double Diamond Deluxe. Everything was working, but had machine turned off for months. Recently turned it on and got Error 12 and both lights on top flashing. Removed processor board and replaced battery, then replaced processor board. Lights still flash, and Error changed from 12 to 61. If I push self test button, machine chimes and Error changes to 61-1. I've tried the reset key (with door open and closed). but no change. In fact, the reset key seems non-functional. I do notice that the reels to not reset themselves. If I flip the off switch, it resets the Error at 61. I am a real newbe at this (I can push buttons and feed bills like an expert). I thank in advance for any assistance, but please keep in mind, I no nothing. [Next Thread |Previous Thread |Next Message |Previous Message]
Date Posted:20:03:50 07/18/05 Mon Everything sounds normal up until you turn the reset key. After pressing the self test button and getting the 61-1 you should close the door, turn the jackpot reset key, and wait for the startup tests to run. The reels should spin, everything should then be ready for play. The lights on top will continue to flash until you play a coin. Are you waiting long enough after turning the reset key? If the machine was running before, there's no reason to think there might be a broken wire to the reset key unless you might have pulled something loose taking the processor board out. You might try clearing the CMOS chip. Either short the processor board battery for a few seconds, or remove the CMOS chip for a few seconds and reinstall it. You may get a 66 or 67 error when you power up, just cycle power and you should get the 61 error. >I have an older IGT S-Plus Double Diamond Deluxe. >Everything was working, but had machine turned off for >months. Date Posted:07:16:56 07/19/05 Tue Thanks for the prompt reply. I have never had a need to use the reset key until now, so I don't know if it ever worked. When I open the door, I see no wire directly attached to the reset key. I am also not sure where to find the CMOS chip and how to clean it. >Everything sounds normal up until you turn the reset >key. Date Posted:08:09:07 07/19/05 Tue There should be two small wires connected to the reset key switch, if they aren't there, that's probably what your problem is. Since the internal wiring of these machines is different for various models, I can't tell you exactly how they are routed in yours, but the basic function of the switch is to apply a momentary contact from J1 pin 22B on the processor board to the B ground. The wires should be coming from a connector somewhere near the reset switch that has other wires running to other parts of the machine. maybe they just broke or were somehow cut. If you want to test this, you can just run a couple of wires from the processor board up to the key switch. J1 is clearly marked on the processor board, and you should have no trouble finding pin 22B. The B ground is near the - end of the battery and is clearly marked. Good luck! >I have an older IGT S-Plus Double Diamond Deluxe. >Everything was working, but had machine turned off for >months. Recently turned it on and got Error 12 and >both lights on top flashing. Date Posted:09:47:11 07/20/05 Wed No loose or cut wires visable. Furthermore, is no apparent way to connect wires to reset key assembly. The reset key assembly does have a downward leg attached to it that rotates 90 degrees to a horizontal position toward the front of the door. There is a horizontal part (63907900B) that is almost in contact with the leg. This horizontal part has a knurled knob attached to it that goes thru the side if door and comes out just below the reset key. If I turn the reset key (leg rotates out of the way, toward front of door), I can pull the knurled knob and the horizontal part slides toward the side of the door. If these details have nothing to do with the reset or are just confusing you, I have yet another stupid question about your work around. I can find J1 pin 22B and BGND. Are you saying to attach a wire to each, reset the processor board into the mother board, power switch on, and then touch the two wires to the reset key assembly? The pins on J1 are pretty close toghther and the fit of the processor board to the mother board is pretty tight. Can't quite picture the two wires not getting pinched or coming loose. As you can tell, I really don't know much about this. >There should be two small wires connected to the reset >key switch, if they aren't there, that's probably what >your problem is. Date Posted:15:25:32 07/20/05 Wed The reset switch is an electrical switch that uses a key to turn it. It's normally located on the external right side of the cabinet. It's most proper function is to reset a jackpot after a hand pay. Most jackpots are too big to pay out of the hopper. >No loose or cut wires visable. Date Posted:13:17:58 07/20/05 Wed Mike, It sounds like your describing the front belly door glass release, not the reset switch?? The reset switch is normally mounted on the right side of the machine, Not in the door but above/behind where the pull handle is. Should also be a serial plate in the same area. Date Posted:05:54:26 07/21/05 Thu Thank you both. I sure appreciate your time and effort. As soon as I used the 'real' reset key, all problems disappeared and machine is AOK. Thanks agian. Mike [ Post a Reply to This Message ]
Recently one of our blog readers raised this question that there are some errors when buying a used slot machine. Though his query was related to his IGT Double Diamond model 96435800 reel slot machine which he had bought but here we are catering to some of the most common errors buyers face when they buy a real slot machine specially a refurbished ones. You can try to fix these errors by doing the following actions as given against each error. Also there are many superb videos online that teach you how to fix these errors.
EEPROM Device Error
EEPROM (electrically erasable programmable read-only memory) is user-modifiable read-only memory (ROM) that can be erased and reprogrammed (written to) repeatedly through the application of higher than normal electrical voltage. Unlike EPROM chips, EEPROMs do not need to be removed from the computer to be modified. However, an EEPROM chip has to be erased and reprogrammed in its entirety, not selectively. It also has a limited life – that is, the number of times it can be reprogrammed is limited to tens or hundreds of thousands of times. In an EEPROM that is frequently reprogrammed while the computer is in use, the life of the EEPROM can be an important design consideration.
A special form of EEPROM is flash memory, which uses normal PC voltages for erasure and reprogramming.
Here is the video how to fix this error
Error on door of slot machine
Many times when the display on the door indicates an error condition, open and close the door to reset the game and clear the error. Open the main door which clears the current game information and a “0” appears in the Coins Played window. Closing the door resets the game and the reels will spin and stop in their last valid position. The error code should clear and the digital display returns to normal game play.
Error Code 12 Battery Voltage
To fix this error turn power off and then turn power on if the battery voltage has dropped below 2.9 V. Also replace ASAP due to possible RAM (Memory) corruption. Open / close door to clear and also Replace 3.6 V Lithium battery on CPU board.
Coin Errors
For coin errors see that comparitor is seated in all four acceptor clips and that acceptor does not have coin(s) jammed or the coin optics below comparitor is not blocked You can ensure toggle power switch is in activated position if installed.
Coin Out Tilt Hopper
Check for and clear any jammed coins in the coin out channel. Also see that the coins are not jammed behind hopper knife or see that the coin out optic sensor is not blocked by dust. If so you can replace hopper coin out optic.
Error in Extra Coin Out Hopper
To fix this see that the hopper motor brake functions properly. Check the coin wiper/ knife for jams and if so adjust them if necessary.
Hopper Empty Error
This is the most common error that new slot machine owners will have because the cash out button was pushed and the number of coins in the hopper is less than the total credits to be paid out. You can open the main door and check the hopper for coin level (your hopper will not dispense all of the coins), refill and close the main door. You may have to do this several times for all of the credits to be paid out.
Reel Tilt Errors
You will find that there are reel tilt errors and for this see that whether the designated reel is misaligned or malfunctioning. Also check if the reel is not unplugged. You can switch connectors from one reel to another, determine if error follows change of connectors. Try replacing reel assembly or optics if error stays with bad reel. Also clear Ram and see if it works again.
During the process of clearing error codes, you may encounter multiple 6x series errors. Here are few common ones and their fixes
CMOS RAM Error
This means Bad (or cleared) CMOS RAM data You can Press test button 3 seconds Error code 61-1 should now be displayed. Now close door, turn and release reset key once. Same for game data reset.
Bad Game EPROM or Data EPROM Error
IGT S+ Error Code 12 - New Life Games
Check circuit board and replace Game EPROM. For Data EPROM error check circuit board and replace Reel EPROM
Bad EPROM Device or Bad EPROM Data or Game Type Mismatch
Press self test switch for 3 seconds If error will not clear replace EPROM Also if the processor could not read or write to the named chip Press test button for 3 seconds Error code clears from display.
Igt Slot Machine Error Codes
Most of the errors can be resolved with little help but many need technical knowledge. Remember that if you are on a warranty or not the place or online site where you purchased a used slot machine is there to assist you with trouble shooting and repairs. They can guide you over the phone or send some mechanical and technical person to do so.
